Poem: Bryon D. Howell

THE BEAUTY OF TIME

My cat
used to be
an outdoor/indoor
cat.

She used to
love
playing catch with
birds,
field hockey with
mice,
hide and seek with
moles,
and tag, you're it -
with bees.

Today my cat,
is an indoor cat
full-time
due to circumstance
beyond
my control.

She hasn't been
outdoors
in almost
4 years.

The other day,
a fly managed
to get
inside.

What a
welcome treat!

What a sight
for my cat's two

sore eyes.

They became -
the best of friends
